There are a number of nonchemical measures that may assist stop infestations:

• Trim tree branches and shrubs away from buildings to forestall entry;
• Seal off potential entry factors equivalent to the place utility strains enter a construction;
• Reduce mulch round constructing perimeters to a depth of two to three inches to discourage nesting;
• Eliminate any earth-to-wood contact of structural parts which may promote wooden decay;
